FAQs

Where are sessions typically held?

Sessions are held in the family’s home or in the community setting such as a childcare center, school, library, or other settings.

Do you accept insurance?

Summit Pediatric Therapy LLC does not currently accept insurance. If parents choose, they may request a Superbill from the therapist to submit to their insurance for potential reimbursement.  Summit Pediatric Therapy LLC cannot guarantee reimbursement of any services from insurance providers and does not contact insurance companies directly.

When are sessions held?

Sessions are held Monday-Friday from 4-8pm. Additional times may be available.

What does a speech therapy session look like?

We love to play at Summit Pediatric Therapy so we often incorporate games and engaging activities to encourage language skills and increase trials.  We also enjoy incorporating the child’s favorite activities to help build on skills they may already be using.  The last 5 minutes of the session are reserved to talk with parents/caregivers about carryover of skills, answer questions, and share celebrations.

How long does a session last and how often are children seen?

Length of sessions as well as frequency is determined on an individual basis depending on the needs of the child, family, and other factors.  Sessions vary from 30 - 60 minutes.

If I am concerned about my child’s speech or language skills what should I do?

First, talk with your child’s pediatrician to share your concerns.  Contact Summit Pediatric Therapy LLC to talk with a speech-language pathologist about your concerns, conduct a screening, or discuss an evaluation.
